30HOURS FAMINE successfully ended....

DIY CAMP- 30HOURS TO GO

Despite of H1N1 diseases, our 30HOURS FAMINE finally successfully ended...WORLD VISION managed to to raise RM1.3million whr they only targeted RM1mil. One of the good news is, this year, there are 100% increased of DIY Camps...this year there was about 132 DIY Camps and last year was just 50 camps...they targetted 10 000 campers and this year it was more than 11 000....

CONGRATULATION!!!!....and our camp managed to raise a total of RM5,115.00. Basically we just targeted RM3,178.00 which brings a quite meaningful meaning behind it...then we exceeded the target till RM4k+ and now this is our end fund raise total RM5,115.00....THANK YOU TO ALL

Millions of thanks to all CAMPERS that managed to turn up just to join us despite of the INFLUENZA H1N1....you girls are great...SORRY for the technical problem that we faced...if we do have a chance in future, we will improved it from this aspect...

Not to forget, thank you to our fundraisers and donors as well....LAST BUT NOT LEAST, of cos TRILLION of THANK YOU to WORLD VISION- for organising such an amazing event, thank you for all their supports, guidance, PERSATUAN CHIH HUI TANG management for their great hospitality, supports nice venue and you all are the greatest ppl on earth...

All of us, the campers thought fasting for 30hours with just plain water and soya bean will be something hard and tough to be accomplished but actually its not...IF YOU DO IT WITH A SINCERE HEART, YOU CAN....when you were at the situation of poverty, even just plain water, you will feel it super tasty....Now we will appreaciate what we have more and thanks GOD for all that have given to us since we were born...and not to forget, we met great new friends...

I can said, I am thrilled with each of them...I have a great committees, and great campers...An experience to share, this was the first time i saw ppl were so happy doing the community service...No complaint from them even though their group leader get to pick the task of washing toilet...I had never seen ppl get to wash toilet as happy as them....mop the floors without a NO word...sweeping the floors and wiping so energeticly...they are all so great....THANKS GOD...you GALS are great...

WORLD VISION 2009, 30HOURS FAMINE (PART 9)

Venue: Burger King, KLCC
Time: 11am-2pm

Today me, Amanda, Jacinta, and Stacy woke up early in the morning to meet up at Burger King, KLCC to discuss further regarding our programmes flow on the 22nd August 09. Basically, I only slept 4hours cos last night was rushing to finish up this blogspot before 7th August.

We choose early in the morning cos Stacy need to settle some of her personal stuff in the noon while I need to go to work in the noon too.

Thanks to Stacy a lot. She was not a fanatic fan of V and not even a member of VIFC but she is here to help us out and join us for this project.

While Stacy trying to complete the other campers name tags, me, Jacinta and Amanda started to discuss the programme on that day....we took about 3hours to settle everything...Thanks GOD that our IDEA kept flowing in non stop...

We also took this opportunity to discuss about how we gonna purchase water and soya bean. We need to purchase about 7boxes of mineral waters (a dozen bottles in a box) and 4 boxes of soya bean. The problem is now, how are we gonna deliver it to the temple itself on the 15th?no delivery services by the wholesales store...die...we have limited transportation and those boxes are so big~~no solution being make on the day~~

Stacy managed to complete the tags designs for all members and we completed our programmes list but no solution being make for the drinks delivery...we still need to check out something with the wholesales ppl...

WORLD VISION 2009, 30HOURS FAMINE (PART 8)

Venue: Persatuan Agama Chih Hui Tang
Time: 2pm-3pm

20 more days to 30hours Famine. The committees are getting more and more busy and nervous. Next following few weeks got to be very busy with our own works and Zai Zai is coming to Malaysia on 9th August. So, everyone are busy with lots of thing. We tried to get things done a.s.a.p.

Today, me, Jacinta and Stacy went to have a look at the venue for our D.I.Y Camp. We went there with mixture of feelings and lots of questions in mind. We knew it was a temple but yet we were thinking, how the venue gonna look like? Why they are so kind to us? What should we do to repay them?

Thanks to Stacy boyfriend for fetching us to the venue and we got to memorise the journey to the venue too.

Reached there about 2pm+. And this is how the entrance of the venue look like..."Persatuan Agama Chih Hui Tang". so big....

This is how its look like...sorry i forgotten to take the pics of inner part...

Met with the in charge person, Ms. Vivian...a very young girl and we proceed with some discussion...God is good...finally we manage to settle our projector issues. They willing to lend us the projector but they welcome us to give back any amount of contribution. Overall, the venue is clean, come with tables, chairs, a small stage, whiteboard, build in projector, toilets and hot water dispenser. With the hot water dispenser, our problems on how many termos and kettle need to bring also settle. Thanks GOD.

In return, we promised to do some community service. We will help them to cleanup the selected area in the temple like sweaping the floor, mop the floor and etc...

After being rejected, ignored and even scolded by some cold hearted ppl, till now we can't believe that they are still some kind ppl on this earth. Thanks GOD again...

Then, we proceed to a wholesales store to checkout the Mineral Water and Soya bean prices.

Venue: Wholesales store
Time: 3.30pm-4.30pm

The prices of the drinks are so cheap...we able to save nearly RM2-3 for a packet of 2liter Soya Bean and RM1.40 for a bottle of Mineral Water. now everything is about saving the registration $ paid by campers and balance we may donate it back to the Famine Fund.

Another problem that occur now is how to deliver those drins to the venue place on 15th? Let's sort it tmrw during the program planning with Jacinta, Amanda and Stacy. Sook Yee couldn't make it for tmrw meeting.

WORLD VISION 20009, 30HOURS FAMINE (PART 7)

Due to my careless mistake, I would like to apologize for miscalculating the total funds raised for all this while...our initial targeted amount was RM3,178.00 which bring 2 meaningful meanings behind those figures. You may find it out from our previous blogs...

Yet, now the total funds raised by the campers are RM4,500.00 where we decided to round up the figure to RM5,000.00. So, some of the campers especially the committee are trying our very own best to get in some last minute funds but I guess mostly all of the ppls in our networks has donated for our famine...we crack our head together and work hard to get the RM500 in this few days before Wednesday as I planned to transfer all the funds to WV on Wednesday (5th Aug 2009). and we also welcome funds from overseas...for more info, kindly email us at vifc_msia@yahoo.com

We pray hard and which us luck...Hope GOD shows us the way...

WORLD VISION 2009, 30 HOURS FAMINE (PART 5)

RECRUITMENT DRIVE

Actually, our recruitment drive started even before we registered to join as one of the DIY CAMP. Why we do so? Because we afraid that we unable to reach the minimum campers that required by WV. SO, we actually asked around especially among our own close friends and relatives.

We tried many ways to pursuits our closes friends and colleagues. From the recruitment drives, we realised that not many people especially youngsters/young adults between the age 18-30years old are aware about 30hours Famine main objective and what are the reasons behind it. Even worst is something that really hurt deep to our heart was we realised that youngsters nowadays became more selfish and do not care much about what others people from the other corner of this earth are suffering. We have been rejected by many people or some even "fly kite" and doesn't hold to their promise. No one love the situation and feeling of being rejected. But sooner, we get used with it and we accept it positively. We recruited people that willing to join this campaign with a sincere heart. GOD knows who you are...

Hence, we set a meet up for those that are interested to join and wanna know more about 30hours Famine.

Date: 14th June 09, Sunday
Venue: KFC, Pavillion
Time:2pm-3pm

[PIC] Busy with registration

[PIC] Explaining more about 30hours Famine....

it was a short 2hours recruitment drive+meeting with the committees...we have a great time as well because we have the chance to do something great and we met the rest of the VIFC girls...On the same time, we earned our first funds collections for our 30hours Famine by started it off through selling ONLY Album (both version) to our members. Those CDs were contributed by one of the kind Japanese girl. Thank you so much...(you know who you are). Thanks to Van Ness for releasing the album on the right time and thanks to GOD as we believe everything was planned by you The Almighty.

WORLD VISION 2009, 30 HOURS FAMINE (PART 4)

CAMP LEADER WORKSHOP

Thought of registering for the workshop which was held on 2 May, however, we find out that the time frame was so near and last minute, so we chosen the one on 13th June 09....

Supposingly, this workshop will be attended by me, Jacinta, Miao and Amanda. However, they do have something to do on that day. If not mistaken, both of them need to work on that day as it was fall on Saturday. So, out of 4, just left me and Jacinta.

We were super nervous and damn scared as we don't know what to expect from this workshop? What they will do?

Registration started at 11am and we were still at the LRT Station when its 10.45am...Thought we gonna be late as we waiting for the bus where we endup took Taxi as we do not have the patience to wait for bus anymore...yet, after we get into taxi we only knew that we have waited at the wrong direction and the place nt that far...(first time going there ma...hehe...)

we even reached there 5min earlier before 11am...and it was about 1hour+ before the workshop started. Yet, the whole thing started at 12.30pm instead of 12pm as there were still some latecomers. Before we entered to the hall, we need to register ourselves first at the registration counter and we were then be given a stack of materials for the Famine such as booklet, receipts books, funds collection booklets, CD, forms, and etc...looks scary and started to feel the stress...

[pic]

While waiting the whole workshop to be officially start, they shows us some videos and slides, etc...feel so touching and tears nearly came out....saw some videos with LeeHom and Ah Mei....

[pic]

No longer than that, the workshop started. We attended the English ver workshop. Its started of with a light game- sweets distribution. (The best, efficient, accurate and fastest way to distribute sweets)
Lesson Learn
- the best way is to choose a leader for each group and the leader reported to the coordinators how many members in their group and then the sweets will be given to the leader for distribution.

- this is the main reason why World Vision(WV) choose to have DIY CAMP starting from last year. This will be the fastest, easier and efficient way for them to convey the messages to the communities. Camp Leader will be the middle person between WV and the campers. Camp Leader and committes were given the responsibilities and trusts to coordinates everything-collection of funds, activities and to spread the love and missions to their camp members.

After that, it continues with the ICE BREAKING...most of them were from colleges, universities, private companies, and etc. The ice breaking started with WV coordinators asking where were each of them came from and their organisations....me and Jacinta kept quite as we doesnt want to steal the limelight....

and then when it comes to end, the head of coordinators mentioned that in their list, there is a very special organisation...everyones seems like having question marks at their head...me and Jacinta looking at each other...omg...

and the head of coordinators look at me and Jacinta, you girls came from where? Jacinta make blur face and said KL...the coordinators knew she doesnt want to answer that question and the coordinators stress out, your organisations????Jacinta look at me and I told myself, we cant run from this anymore...die die le...I said out loudly, clearly and proudly....VIFC- VAN NESS WU INTERNATIONAL FAN CLUB....about 50+ pair of eyes(from left, right, front and back) look at us at the same time...and the coordinators mentioned, this was the first fan club ever joining such event...good job...and he ask,you know who is Van Ness Wu? some said yes and one or two voices said no..and she said, the fellow member of F4 that acted in METEOR GARDEN...thanks for the great intro...haha...endup, both of us are at the limelight...gosh...

then, during some discussion time came a couple that walk to us and ask more about VIFC as they are curious about it...we explained to them...they are so cute..

Programme cont with

We had our tea break with VSOY which was the main sponsors for our countdown event as well...VSOY MULTI GRAIN is super damn tasteful and you doesnt need to eat after you drank it...it will make you super full as well...and we are the taste market team as this soya bean still havent been release at the market..

2009 Charitable Plan (PART 3)

Today, Amanda suggested whether are we interested to join World Vision,30hours Famine. She gave me the link www.worldvision.com.my/famine2009 for me to read through and know more about it.

She said as this year was the 2nd year they introduce D.I.Y Camp which means we can form our own camp with the name of V.I.F.C or if not, we can join other camps.

If we form our own D.I.Y Camp, one of us need to bear the responsibility as the Camp Leader.

I am quite interested with this but I don't know whether my hectic working schedule will allowed me to manage all this things & Amanda refused to become the Camp Leader :-(

I told her to give me some time think about it. Another ques that run in our mind, are we able to get enough ppl to join this event/project? As one of the requirement is, to form a D.I.Y Camp, a minimum of 10 ppls are needed.

So, before we really register to join as a D.I.Y Camp, we actually tried to approach and recruit our own VIFC Msian members, closest friends and colleagues. Its great to know that some of the ppl that we approach are interested to join for the sake of charity in helping to against poverty and helping the needy commnunities.

2009 Charitable Plan (PART 2)

I came out with a proposal for the visits to the Orphanage Home plan. The costs of this visits included souvenirs, light refreshment/lunch, in kind donations, etc. The proposed activities are games, light refreshement, clean up the compound and maybe sing along...

The budget that is needed for this plan is approximately RM1,800-RM2,000 which I am not confidence enough about how we able to raise such fund. Yet, I did listed out some activities that may help to generate funds.

And then, I send out an email to the members regarding their opinions about our charitable plan this year. They are given 3 choices:
1) One off donation to organizationg (eg. UNICEF, MAKNA, WWF, McDonald's Charitable fund, etc)
2) Kid adoption under World Vision
3) Orphanage home visit (budget around RM1,800-RM2,000).

Feedback- most of the members preferred choice 1 even though we are quite interested with the choice 2&3. However, choice 2 needs more commitment among each of us and as for choice 3,we do not have confidence that we able to raise that much of fund. Let's keep the best for last. Maybe till the moments we get lots of Msian members...that moment, it gonna be fun..maybe we can invite Van Ness to join us as well...~dreaming~

2009 Charitable Plan

2008 had passed and now we are in 2009...time to plan something for this year charitable project. One year once, as V Birthday present, and thats interesting yet exciting. Wondering what we gonna do this year? Something special?

So, I planned for our 2nd gathering. We meet up each other for a lunch then proceed to watch Kung Fu Chef together. Initially, we get a news that V will be coming to Malaysia to promote Kung Fu Chef yet, the news seems to be false. Sad to hear that...but of cos we will still going to watch it. Some of the girls are excited about this movie and some of us went to watch the Premiere few days ago...thanks to GSC, they managed to secure each of us a Giant KFC poster...

Date: 22/02/09, Sunday
Venue: Pavillion (Pepper Lunch)
Time: 12pm
Movie Slot: 2.30pm

And out of the surprise, we are going to meet with some AnD folks too and proceed to watch movie together. But we met with the girls from VIFC an hour earlier to discuss what we gonna do for this year?

After a long discussion, we planned to do something bigger this year. Maybe a visit to the orphanage home where we get to cook food for them, gave them souvenirs, play with them and maybe sing along. That sounds pretty great.

And we come out with some backup plan too...Donation to Makna, Donald's foundation, WWF, etc....

The group pic with AnD new friends...

P/S: Everyone were enjoying themselves so much with KFC.Yet I did something when the movie ended. I recorded the audio for the ending song of the movie illegally cos really love the song so much and we can't get it from anywhere that moment as Malaysia is the first country to release this movie. Then I share it with everyone. Sharing is caring...
